ABOUT

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed to practice in the State of MA. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, mood and adjustment disorders, psychosis, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, and the many challenging emotional states we all wrangle with from time to time.

I am licensed “across the lifespan” meaning that I see children, adolescents, and adults. I genuinely enjoy and am grateful for the opportunity to engage with individuals of all ages. While I use the word “treatment” to describe the work I do, my primary focus is the prevention of illness and the promotion of wellness. My approach can be seen as more collaborative than prescriptive. I listen carefully to understand the factors that have brought you to my office and partner with you in the process of accepting and/or changing the unique circumstances that lie at the heart of your distress.

The types of therapy we employ during our time together will vary according to your comfort level, preference, and readiness for change. Along with therapy, I am likely to suggest changes to lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, hydration or other environmental variables. I may also recommend learning more about the nature or origin of your condition in the form of reading, writing, and reflection to foster personal insight and self-awareness. Where does medication fit in? I hold a deep respect for pharmacology and as such prescribe medications thoughtfully and judiciously.  Psychiatric medications can be valuable tools but are by no means risk or side-effect free, or a substitute for the self-examination, therapeutic dialogue, and hard work that we will undertake together.

I attended Curry College where I obtained Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Nursing. After practicing in these fields for over a decade, I attended Regis College and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing. I am Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
